Even though the chaos of the world we live in can give us reasons to feel beat down or overwhelmed, we can create solid foundations. These are the things that give us a toolbox of skills that we can call on at any time to restore our balance.

Developing Resilience through Foundations
Resilience is defined as the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties. It also can mean toughness, which we often need if we’re to deal with the events in our lives.
We can cultivate balance, clarity and a sense of empowerment through creating solid foundations. These foundations are a great investment of our time and energy. They can help us create or restore our balance when the world throws something at us that threatens to send us off balance.

This might be my favorite tool. It’s easy to use and effective.

Meditation can be done seated or as a moving meditation, giving you options to explore this simple, but powerful tool.

Creating Resilience with Energy Work
There’s different types of energy work and my favorites are Reiki and Qi Gong. I’ve been a Reiki practitioner for decades and a Reiki Master/Teacher since 2017. It’s something that I’ve used for myself, my family and my animals. Each method of energy work helps clear any blockages in your subtle energy system, restoring balance that improves overall well-being, making us more resilient to life’s changes.

Prioritizing your well-being pays big benefits. Emotional, physical and mental. You can reboot your energies, improve the quality of your life and create joy by intentionally taking care of yourself. Do whatever is most meaningful to you. That could be a day spent reading a good book, getting a massage, taking a trip to the forest, going with friends to a special event or getting a facial. Whatever you choose, decide in advance that you are worth it. (Because you are!) Self-care isn’t selfish. In fact, it benefits everyone around you.

Creating Resilience with Gratitude
Gratitude is like modern day alchemy. It turns what we have into enough and it helps us draw in more things to be grateful for. If you only focus on what you don’t have, you will create more lack in your life. Focusing on what you do have and being grateful for it, helps you stay in the positive aspects of life and trains your mind to see the beauty of the world around you.
What’s the benefits of gratitude?
Here’s a few of them:
- Creates and supports a positive mindset
- Appreciation for all you have will draw in more good things to your life
- Less stress, anxiety and feelings of lack
