Late summer is a strange kind of beautiful that provides the perfect backdrop to celebrate your growth this season.
In the natural world, this is a time that’s filled with more. Gardens are overflowing with produce, bees are visiting all the flowers that bloom profusely and signs of earth’s abundance are everywhere.
But, if you look closely, there’s something else there too.
A shift in the light and a hint that the earth is slowing down.
This is a shift we also experience.
It’s like moving into a new gear. Now that we’ve reached the first harvest, we are called into alignment with the season. This is a time to pause, gather and reflect.
For the witches and other wild souls, this harvest time isn’t only about the physical. It’s also about our inner world. An opportunity to celebrate your growth this season.
What have you been cultivating?
Even if you’re not sure how to answer that question, it’s likely that you’ve grown more than you know.
In this post, I’ll share some simple witchy ways that you can use today to celebrate your growth this season.
What is the Inner Harvest?
Growing up, I was never taught to measure success by anything other than material wealth (or more accurately, the illusion of it).
But beyond the money earned and the boxes checked off the list of things that are supposed to make you successful there’s something else too.
Through seasonal living, we see that growth can look like:
-
Choosing rest instead of pushing through because nothing is more important than taking care of you
-
Finally saying no without guilt
-
Trusting your own timing instead of the frenetic pace of the world
-
Letting go of something you thought you needed to hold onto because you were told you should want it
-
Reclaiming a part of yourself that felt lost or forgotten
None of this is flashy (so it’s overlooked) and they’re probably not handing out awards for it, but it’s foundational.
It’s important. (no matter how much you’ve been told it isn’t)
Cultivating your inner harvest deserves to be honored.

A Simple Harvest Reflection Ritual to Celebrate Your Growth this Season
Choose your spot. Indoors or out will work for this. You can go with whatever time of day suits you.
You’ll need:
-
A candle
-
Your journal (or paper + pen)
-
An object from nature (a leaf, seed, flower, or stone)
1. Ground: Take three deep breaths to become fully present in the now and light your candle.
2. Hold your nature item in your hand and whisper:
“At this time of earth’s harvest, I honor my own inner harvest.”
3. Reflect and write:
-
What am I proud of that can’t be measured by society’s definition of success?
-
What lessons did I learn during this summer season?
-
Where have I yielded or where have I strengthened, or what have I allowed to fall away? Consider one or all of these things.
4. Close with gratitude. Hold the object to your heart and say:
“I am grateful for how far I’ve come—both for the seen and unseen progress.”
Creating Your Visual Harvest Board
Healing creativity is one of the Ravynwood Foundations because, well, it’s so healing.
If you’d like to create a reflection that is felt through color, images, shapes, textures, quotes, symbols or intuitive expression, then this might be just right for you.
Create a harvest collage using magazine clippings or found items from nature, book pages or even make it digitally as a Pinterest board.
Let this be a reflection of what you’ve grown through this season.
Think of it as a visual altar. There’s no need to make it pretty, although you can if you want. The important thing is that it’s authentically yours and reflects your journey.
When you’re all done with it, put it up somewhere that you’ll see it often as a reminder of how far you’ve come. If you design it digitally, add a reminder to your phone to review it so you won’t forget.
In Closing: Remember These Things to Celebrate Your Growth this Season
- Not everything needs to be kept.
- Some things may be complete now, while others are just beginning. Endings and beginnings are related.
- Honor your inner harvest. Don’t compare it to anyone else’s.
This way, you bring the wisdom of this season with you.
How will you celebrate your growth this season?
This is the work of the witch. Remembering. Reclaiming. Reverence.
