The unique magick of November arrives to guide us into the in-between.
October’s show is over. The leaves have fallen to the ground and bare trees stretch upward into a gray sky.
The air is sharp now and there’s a stillness that takes over in the natural world.
For the green witch, this is a time of being. The doing season has come to an end.
November is a threshold month that invites reflection and surrender to the stillness of this time.
But November’s unique magick runs deep. Let’s explore how we can use it in our everyday lives.
November’s Energies
Nature shares wisdom with us through rhythm.
November energies are rest and integration. A time of final descent.
The trees, once vibrant with color, now stand bare. The squirrels gather food in preparation for the cold months ahead. The sun sets earlier each day, moving our focus indoors.
We’re invited to pause, to listen inward, and to process all that this year has offered and demanded of us.
This is how we tap into the unique magick of November.
Themes of November: Rest & Restoration
November asks us to stop doing and start receiving.
Here’s something to remember: Rest is not laziness. Rest is medicine.
This month is a beautiful time to restore your energy after the harvest season, and replenish all that’s been depleted whether physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
Listen to your body.
Let it tell you what it needs.
Maybe it’s sleep. Or moments to sit with warm tea and no agenda.
(When did you do this last without that nagging voice telling you to get up and do something?)
Watch as the night comes early and resist the urge to fill every single moment with something productive.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is step back, rest and realign yourself.
Release the Need to Always Be “On”
Follow the example of trees and let go of the belief that you must always be “on”. You don’t.
The natural world slows down now and that’s our reminder that not everything can or even should happen all at once.
I know that society claims otherwise, but it’s simply not true. But, if you’ve been clinging tightly to this false notion, release it now and trust that rest is productive.
Nature’s lesson: Seeds don’t sprout without first being dormant.

November: The Sacred Pause
In the Wheel of the Year, Samhain marks both an ending and a beginning but November is the space between. A sacred pause where everything is welcome.
This quiet in-between is where deep magick lives. It’s where dreams take shape and clarity whispers through the silence.
Everyday Magick for November
Small, intentional acts can ground us into the rhythm of the season. Here are a few simple, meaningful practices for this month:
- Begin your mornings with five minutes of stillness. No phones, no calendar and no preconceived notions. Just your steady breath and the quiet of early morning.
 - Make warming stews with root vegetables and magickal allies like thyme, garlic, rosemary, and sage. I firmly believe that alchemy happens in our kitchens every day.
 - Write a letter to yourself honoring all you’ve been through, what you’ve learned, and all that you’ve become this year. When you’re done with it, you can burn it (safely) under a waning moon or bury it in your garden soil.
 - Take ritual baths with epsom salts, pine needles, or lavender. Soak in silence. Let the water cleanse not just your body, but also your spirit.
 - Create an altar. Include dried leaves, bones, a small mirror for reflection, and any tokens that represent all the lessons you’ve learned. Think of this as your way of integrating all the wisdom you’ve gained into your life.

Final Thoughts on the Unique Magick of November
November may look like dormancy, but its unique magick lies in how it roots us. This is the green witch’s opportunity to turn inward and tend to what’s within herself.

To listen.
To integrate all that has unfolded.
The rest of the world may hurry toward the holidays and their to-do lists, but you are not the world.
